Discover Your True Identity in Christ
We want to focus specifically on the “person” God made us to be. Not the physical body and what we see, but our “spirit man,” the person we are even if removed from our flesh. This is our place of “being” and is our eternal nature that will survive beyond our life on this earth. It is who we really are. Not the color of our skin, nor the things that we do, it is our heart, our “nature,” our IDENTITY!
The most critical aspect of understanding your identity is the formation of a proper belief system which informs your sense of “being.” If you are believing false things about yourself your “being” will sabotage how you show up and respond to life’s situations and opportunities. We can’t live out our full potential unless we know and understand and believe in who we are.
This is where our Heavenly Father plays a critical role. He is always there with us, and he will lead us into all truth, and he will guide us in our journey of discovering who we really are in Christ! The more we can go to him to hear what he says about us, what his perspective is, the more we will understand and take on our true identity!
Galatians 4:4-7 (NLT)
But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. 6And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” 7Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
