OURÂ STORY
Hearing God’s voice is the golden thread that has run through our lives from the beginning. Nathanael and I were both raised in godly Christian homes by parents in ministry who were wholeheartedly going after God. His heart was turned toward intimacy with God on a starlit night on his driveway, and I learned how to hear God’s voice on my living room couch as a child.
When our lives converged and we got married, talking and listening to God together was a natural outflow of what God had grown in us individually. It became our go-to whenever we had to make decisions. Everything we did came from the flow of partnership and conversations with God: choosing careers, naming our children, navigating challenging circumstances, moving to a new state, and even founding Rhema NOW! Asking the Holy Spirit questions, waiting for his reply, and then acting on what he says has been our normal life.Â
OURÂ NORMAL WASN'T COMMON
Time and again when talking with other Christians, we’ve been surprised by how novel this approach sounded to them. We’d hear comments like: “I think I’ve heard God’s voice once or twice–I’m not sure how to recognize it.” “I never thought about asking God what to name my kids!” “It’s rare to see leaders asking God for specific direction for their business!”
As believers, walking with God every day is our inheritance! Having two-way conversations and hearing God’s voice for ourselves is not just a nice-to-have, it is vital. Listening to God and living in partnership with him IS the normal Christian life!
OUR MISSION
The Holy Spirit spoke to Nathanael several years ago: “I WANT TO TALK TO MY PEOPLE!” The urgency was undeniable, and it was drenched in love for all his children. Out of this and many other encounters and confirmations, the vision of Rhema NOW was born, and Nathanael left his corporate role so we could launch it together.Â
